7 Reasons Why Your Muscles Stopped Growing and How to Get Them To Grow Again

You train too hard – Intensive muscle training actually breaks down our muscles. Truth is, your muscles need to recover from the damage you may have inflicted on them.

Tip: Train each muscle group only once or at most twice a week.

You train too long – Keep your workout intense but do not workout more than an hour each time. After 45 minutes of intensive training, your cortisol level increases. Cortisol is known to destroy muscle cells.

You do not get enough sleep – Your muscles grow while you sleep.

Tip: Sleep between 7 and 8 hours per day and watch those muscles grow.

Alcohol abuse – Alcohol is known to break down muscle mass. Alcohol is, in fact, harmful to us in other ways.

Change your workout routine – Change it every 6-8 weeks. Your muscles will adapt to your routine and start growing.

Don't overload your muscles – Increase your reps or weight each time you train a particular muscle group.

Eat more protein – Protein is your muscle building block. It is recommended that you use 1 gram  per pound of your body weight.

Tip: If you do not consume enough protein with your normal diet, use a supplement that contains protein shakes.

NOTE: Many more muscle building methods exist but these 7 reasons will be enough for you if you're an average bodybuilding beginner.
